Parents Guide

Home School Conference

The organizers of the PARENT'S GUIDE HOMESCHOOLING CONFERENCE are Corrinna and Henry Kiezebrink.  We have been blessed by the Lord with 12 wonderful children all of whom we have home educated from K to grade 12.  Our three eldest children are married Pieter to Amy, Philip to Kristy (grandsons: Thomas and Jacob) and Yvonne to Jeff (grandaughter: Alexis).  Janelle has answered the call to mission work with Urban Promise in Toronto, ON and is living in Toronto.  Andrew is living with our daughter Yvonne and her husband Jeff and is enrolled with Flemming College for the carpentry course while apprenticing with our son-in-law Jeff and his father with Zegers Construction.  Remaining at home are Laina (who is enrolled in Georgian College in the Nursing Degree program) James, Simon, Seth, Inake, Caleb and Isaac.  We have been home educating our children for 25 years now (and we still have a few to go).  Because we are into homeschooling for the long term and are fully committed to homeschooling we have become involved in the leadership of homeschooling in our area.  Corrinna has been a part of the orgainzational team for the conference for 19 years, Henry for 14 years.  Now that the PG Conference is no longer being held we continue to be involved with home education leadership on both the local and provincial levels.  We have been leaders within the homeschool community for a number of years now.  Corrinna and I have been OCHEC (Ontario Christian Home Educators Connection) area 5 reps for 7 years but we have just retired from that position and OCHEC has approved Cori Dean as the new OCHEC area rep and the area for Simcoe County has changed from area 5 to area 10 (check out the OCHEC website for full changes to the area rep structure at  We are the OCHEC Chapter leaders for the SCHIL homeschooling group.  Henry was the editor of the SCHIL (Simcoe County Homeschool Info Link) newsletter having just retired from that position.  We have handed over the reigns to Christine Dittmann who is the new editor of the SCHIL newsletter.  We consider it a priviledge and at the same time a blessing to be involved in the local homeschooling community as well as having organized the homeschooling conference for so many years and the blessings of the many friendships and contacts that we have made through the conference.  The Lord has truly blessed us as a family through our home educating our children.  We seek, with God's help, to be a help and hopefully an inspiration to other home educating families.

Our wedding text from so many years ago still hangs on our wall and lives in our hearts:

"Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding.  In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He will direct thy paths.  Do not be wise in thine own eyes, fear the Lord and shun evil."  Proverbs 3: 5,6,7
