The organizers of the PARENT'S GUIDE HOMESCHOOLING CONFERENCE are Corrinna and Henry Kiezebrink. We have been blessed by the Lord with 12 wonderful children all of whom we have home educated from K to grade 12. Our three eldest children are married Pieter to Amy, Philip to Kristy (grandsons: Thomas and Jacob) and Yvonne to Jeff (grandaughter: Alexis). Janelle has answered the call to mission work with Urban Promise in Toronto, ON and is living in Toronto. Andrew is living with our daughter Yvonne and her husband Jeff and is enrolled with Flemming College for the carpentry course while apprenticing with our son-in-law Jeff and his father with Zegers Construction. Remaining at home are Laina (who is enrolled in Georgian College in the Nursing Degree program) James, Simon, Seth, Inake, Caleb and Isaac. We have been home educating our children for 25 years now (and we still have a few to go). Because we are into homeschooling for the long term and are fully committed to homeschooling we have become involved in the leadership of homeschooling in our area. Corrinna has been a part of the orgainzational team for the conference for 19 years now, Henry for 14 years. We have been leaders within the homeschool community for a number of years now. Corrinna and I are OCHEC (Ontario Christian Home Educators Connection) area 5 reps. We are the OCHEC Chapter leaders for the SCHIL homeschooling group. Henry is the editor of the SCHIL (Simcoe County Homeschool Info Link) newsletter. We consider it a priviledge and at the same time a blessing to be involved in the local homeschooling community as well as organizing our homeschooling conference. The Lord has truly blessed us as a family through our home educating our children. We seek, with God's help, to be a help and hopefully an inspiration to other home educating families.
Our wedding text from so many years ago still hangs on our wall and lives in our hearts:
"Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He will direct thy paths. Do not be wise in thine own eyes, fear the Lord and shun evil." Proverbs 3: 5,6,7
